Middle School Choir
Middle School students at St. Charles
School select to participate in Choir. The choir curriculum
is performance-based. Technique, concepts, and music reading skills are taught
through active participation in performing quality music of different periods.
Repertoire is carefully chosen each year considering the singing/playing ability
of the students. Students perform in an evening Christmas concert each year, as well as student assembly performances. A high standard of musical performance is expected by students, teachers, and
parents.
In addition to scheduled choir classes, students are encouraged to play and sing in the Folk Group at weekly Mass. Extra-curricular music
activities include volunteer participation in Circle the State
with Song and the Indiana State Music association Solo and
Ensemble Festival. Honor Choir is an auditioned group.
