3rd Grade Music
Third Grade Music Class
Students will continue to progress in their
singing ability and musicality via the KodАly music concept and Orff-Schulwerk
techniques. By the end of the third grade year, third grade students
will:
∙ Identify and demonstrate absolute pitch names of the treble staff in
la-sol-mi songs where sol is G, C, or D
∙ Identify and demonstrate the
pentatonic scale
∙ Identify and demonstrate tika-tika in singing and speaking
where the beat equals the quarter note
∙ Identify and demonstrate ti-tika in
singing and speaking where the beat equals the quarter note
∙ Identify and
demonstrate absolute pitch names of the treble staff in la-sol-mi-re-do songs
where sol is G, F, and C
∙ Identify and demonstrate low la (l), in re-do-la,
mi-re-do-la, and so-mi-re-do-la, and their inverse patterns in singing and from
an instrument being played
∙ Identify and demonstrate the dotted half note
and 3/4 met
